As the Principal AV Consultant of Magnus Home Cinema, Rajesh Mantena brings a deeply personal, experience-driven approach to home theatre design—shaped by years of hands-on listening, experimentation, and refinement.

​

Rajesh’s relationship with sound began early, long before formal training or technical language entered the picture. Growing up surrounded by music and film soundtracks, his curiosity was sparked by how sound could transform a space and evoke emotion. That curiosity evolved alongside technology—from early stereo and surround systems to immersive multi-channel audio—laying the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of better sound.

While initially skeptical of home theatre systems, Rajesh’s perspective shifted through extensive exposure to commercial cinemas, live music venues, and large-scale sound systems, particularly during his time aborad. These experiences, combined with his growing interest in music production and guitar journey, refined his understanding of how sound is intended to be heard—natural, balanced, and emotionally engaging.

Over the years, Rajesh has lived with and critically evaluated a wide range of speaker systems and sound signatures, gaining practical insights into dynamics, tonal balance, imaging, and low-frequency performance. His journey through multiple system builds—spanning compact setups to full-scale dedicated theatres—helped him develop a trained ear and a strong appreciation for restraint over excess.

A pivotal moment in Rajesh’s journey came with the realization that equipment alone does not define performance. Deep study of room acoustics, bass management, and psychoacoustics fundamentally reshaped his approach. Understanding how sound interacts with space—how it reflects, decays, and is perceived—became central to his design philosophy. Acoustic treatment, calibration, and layout are now treated with the same importance as equipment selection.

Today, Rajesh personally oversees the design and tuning of every Magnus Home Cinema project. His work is guided not by trends or brand bias, but by real-world listening, room behavior, and long-term reliability. Known for his meticulous attention to detail, he remains closely involved until each system achieves proper balance, coherence, and realism.

Despite his technical depth, Rajesh’s focus remains firmly on the client experience. Every theatre is approached as a bespoke project—designed around the room, the listener, and how the space will be lived in.

For Rajesh, a great home theatre is one where technology fades into the background, the room feels effortless, and the experience unfolds exactly as the filmmaker or artist intended.
